Nashville: 12 Hour Adventure
One Day in Nashville:
Heyyyy Cousins,
With the Southwest companion pass challenge you have to buy and fly by a certain date to take advantage of the companion pass for a three month span at another time. So we registered, booked flights and landed in Nashville!
Early Morning Hustle
**4:00 AM**
Our adventure started before the crack of dawn, with the alarm going off at 4:00 AM. With TSA PreCheck and CLEAR, we breezed through airport security, giving us just enough time to grab a coffee and taco before boarding our Southwest flight at 5:30 AM.
**9:00 AM**
We landed in Music City at 9:00 AM, excited and ready to explore. With Hertz’s Presidential Circle membership, picking up our rental car was a smooth and quick process. We were on the road within minutes.
Breakfast: Biscuit Love
**9:30 AM**
Our first stop was Biscuit Love, a Nashville staple known for its legendary biscuits. We were thrilled with their "East Nasty" biscuits, and my husband and I enjoyed the "Princess" – a hot chicken biscuit that perfectly combined the flavors of Nashville.
Historical Immersion: Museum of African American Music
**10:30 AM**
Our main event of the day was the National Museum of African American Music. The museum offers a deep dive into the rich history and influence of African American music. The interactive exhibits kept Jackson engaged, while my husband and I appreciated the historical context and cultural significance. This visit was not just educational but also profoundly moving.
Downtown Exploration: Scooters and Surprises
**1:00 PM**
With the museum visit wrapped up, we decided to explore downtown Nashville. We spotted scooters for rent, and we thought, why not? Riding through the city was a blast until Gregory, turned into a hero. He bravely crashed his scooter to prevent Jackson from getting hit by a car. Thankfully, everyone was safe, and Gregory’s quick thinking saved the day.
Base Camp: Soho House
**3:00 PM**
Since we weren’t staying overnight, Soho House Nashville served as our anchor point. The members-only club provided a comfortable place to relax and recharge. We enjoyed the scenery, ate lunch, and we took some time to unwind take a few meetings have a few drinks and plan our next move.
An Unexpected Discovery: The Vacant Mansion
**4:00 PM**
As we continued our adventure, we stumbled upon a magnificent but vacant mansion. Curiosity got the best of us, and we decided to take a closer look. The mansion, with its grand architecture and overgrown gardens, felt like something out of a movie. Peering through the windows, we imagined the stories the walls could tell. It was a mysterious and enchanting detour that added a touch of magic to our day.
A Quick Bite: Waffle House
**5:00 PM**
As our day in Nashville came to a close, we made a final pit stop at Waffle House. Nothing beats the comfort food classics – we filled up on waffles, hashbrowns, and the All-Star special with a juicy chicken breast. We love the relaxed, no-frills atmosphere, and it was the perfect end to our whirlwind day.
Heading Home
**6:30 PM**
We returned our rental car and headed to the airport with plenty of time to spare. Our flight back home gave us the chance to reflect on our day. Nashville’s vibrant culture, history, and friendly vibe made it a memorable trip for our family.
**8:30 PM**
Touching down back home, we were exhausted but happy. A day trip to Nashville was the perfect mini-adventure, blending history, culture, and a bit of excitement.
